Job Description:
The senior Middle office will be responsible to provide support for Equity, fixed Income and structured products strategies. Collaborate with portfolio management, advisors and Management to resolve complex requests and inquiries to resolution. Prepare and analyze ongoing metrics and dashboards to support business decisions. Execute projects and initiatives to identify and implement operational best practices, system enhancements, and policy changes. The ideal candidate for the role will be able to work autonomously and within a smaller team environment, recognizing the need for flexibility and a team-oriented outlook Responsibilities:
• Provide middle office support, including trade instructions, trade matching, corporate actions, product expiration, cash & position reconciliation. The individual will be expected to support the entire trade lifecycle from front to back.
• Assist with periodic management reporting including monthly accounting closing preparation.
• Liaise with Middle office, Back office, fund administrators, brokers and other counterparties to ensure daily operation issues such as trade discrepancies and settlement issues are resolved promptly.
• Facilitate new business on boarding with internal and external parties to ensure new account & portfolios are set up in a timely manner.
• Ensure Middle Office workflow activities follow established risk controls and comply with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Enhance internal quality assurance and the risk control framework by implementing and monitoring adherence to new procedures.
• Participate in various middle office projects related to optimizing management of the activity.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent experience required.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in financial services operations required, preferably within investment management (buy-side) but we will consider sell-side also.
• Client-orientated with attention to detail and quality.
• Strong verbal communication & problem resolution skills.
• Speak French (been able to communicate with HQ based in France).
• Ability to work effectively & efficiently in a team environment and have a hands-on approach.
• Knowledge of portfolio accounting systems and tools.
• Knowledge of software programs like Visual Basic, C++, and Python not required but desired.
